Atlas Engineering has state of the art Piston Manufacturing Facility to produce Pistons for Honda Motorcycles. To ensure the quality requirements and intricacy of this crucial engine component, Atlas Engineering has a Technical Collaboration Agreement with Honda Foundry Co. Ltd. Japan, one of the pioneers of Piston Manufacturing. The Technical Collaboration took place in 1996.

 

Several technological advancements have been made in the manufacturing facilities, with the passage of time to maintain the high standards of safety, quality and performance.

Gravity Die Casting:

Atlas Engineering is equipped with Robotic and Semi-Automatic GDC Machines to produce high quality Piston Casting, along with heat treatment setup to ensure required strength/hardness and enhance the machinability.

Piston Machining:

The Piston Casting is being machined through Hi-Tech CNC & PLC based machines, along with efficient material handling through Robotic Arms.

The precision in the  intricate dimensions is maintained through state of the art machinery, highly skilled workforce along with implemented “Good Manufacturing Practices” and rigorous Quality Assurance System in place.

Bridge Fork Top:

Bridge Fork Top is the basis of steering system for a motorcycle.

Given the criticality of the part, Atlas Engineering is manufacturing the Bridge Fork Top using high strength aluminum alloys through following processes:

Gravity Die Casting and Machining:

The casting of BFT is done through Gravity Die Casting Machines, with machining of the same being outsourced.

Surface Treatment & Finishing:

The surface treatment include hexavalent chromium-free chemical treatment with surface finish achieved through barreling and surface coating.
